Regarding the old Darwin Hospital site at Cullen Bay.
To create jobs and amenity to the City in terms of our history, tourism, strategic location and aspirations; I propose the building of The Darwin Opera House at that site.
Drawings / plans are envisaged which include a large underground atrium with marina-level vessel access; ground-level pet-friendly caravan park; adjacent underground car-park / cyclone-shelter and unusual / iconic design of above ground structure which includes water-tank, police / emergency-services level, medical centre level, cafeteria / restaurant level, childcare level, etc. All topped with a multi-helicopter pad.
Completion would be in time for the upcoming bicentennial of our city's namesake. If you'd like to see the ideas I have, I'd be happy to present them in more detail. This would be an original and futuristic design with inspirational consequences about our common duty to the world our children inherit.
